Biography

Autobiography of Cedrick Loyd Celius

My name is Cedrick Loyd Celius, and I was born on October 16 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Raised in the vibrant city of Delmas, I grew up in a place full of culture, energy, and challenges. It was in this environment that my curiosity for technology, science, and innovation began to blossom. Today, I reside in the United States of America, where I continue to pursue my passion for electrical engineering, robotics, and education.

A Spark in Haiti

From a young age, I was fascinated by how things worked. I spent hours dismantling everyday objects just to understand their inner mechanics. This natural curiosity evolved into a deep interest in robotics, electronics, and programming. However, growing up in Haiti, I didn’t have access to many educational resources or mentors in STEM fields. But I never saw that as a limitation—it was a challenge I was determined to overcome.

The Birth of a Mission

In 2020, I launched my first project called “Mechatronics and Robotics for Haiti.” It began as a personal mission: to share the little I knew with others, stay connected to my passion, and continue learning. Without a computer or formal training, I taught myself how to code using only a smartphone, learning HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to build the front end of a website. Eventually, I acquired a laptop and dove deeper into SQL, PHP, and WAMP, developing a full-stack solution.

This project wasn’t just about coding—it was about inspiring others and creating access to knowledge I never had growing up.

Building AiTWobo

In 2022, I rebranded the project as Ayiti Wobo, meaning “Treat Haiti with Robotics.” The goal was bigger now: to form a real robotics community where students, young professionals, and tech lovers could come together to learn, build, and innovate. I created a robotics club and invited others to join.

In 2023, the club officially launched. Hundreds applied. With limited tools and space, we onboarded a small group and gave them the opportunity to learn hands-on, using materials I helped source and provide.

From Local to Global: The Rise of AiTWobo

By 2024, the initiative had grown beyond what I had imagined. I renamed it AiTWobo—short for Artificial Intelligence (AI), Information Technology (IT), and Robotics (Wobo). Our new slogan became “Let’s actively participate in tomorrow’s innovation.”

AiTWobo became a global robotics movement, registered in Massachusetts and active in Haiti, with plans to launch new chapters around the world. Our mission: to empower the next generation of innovators with tools, knowledge, and a community that believes in the power of technology to drive change.

Where I Am Today

Currently, I’m studying Electrical Engineering at the Benjamin Franklin Cummings Institute of Technology in Massachusetts. I live in Swampscott, where I balance my academic life with my role as the founder and leader of AiTWobo.

Every day, I wake up excited to keep building, teaching, and learning. Whether it’s mentoring a new club member, prototyping a new idea, or connecting with global partners, I stay true to my mission: to make technology accessible and empowering for all.

A Vision That Drives Me

My vision for the future is bold but rooted in hope: a world where robotics and AI aren’t just tools for industry—they’re catalysts for education, economic development, and social transformation, especially in underserved communities.

“Through AiTWobo, we are not just building robots; we are shaping the future. Innovation thrives when knowledge is shared, and together, we can redefine what’s possible.”

This is more than my story. It’s the beginning of a movement. And I’m just getting started.
